In the heart of Douarnenez, between maritime tradition and exceptional craftsmanship, Royal Mer has chosen an iconic setting to capture the essence of its Autumn-Winter collection: the Tanguy shipyards and the Ateliers de l'Enfer. This location, steeped in history and passion, resonates perfectly with our maritime heritage and our commitment to authentic manufacturing.

Between wood and thread: know-how that stands the test of time

In Douarnenez, the shipyards perpetuate a centuries-old art: boat building and restoration. In these workshops, expert hands shape wood, restore hulls, and breathe new life into old sailing ships. This is meticulous work, where every touch counts, reflecting our approach at Royal Mer. We share with these artisans the same attention to detail and fine craftsmanship, the kind that gives birth to unique pieces, designed to last.

The Tanguy Shipyard: a renaissance between tradition and innovation

Founded in 1959 on the island of Sein before moving to Douarnenez in 1964, Chantier Tanguy has made its mark on Breton maritime history by building more than 150 boats. After closing in 1993, Yves Tanguy relaunched the workshop in 2003, revitalizing this iconic location. Between sturdy frames and sails ready to face the waves, we found in this environment a perfect analogy for our knitwear creations, where robustness meets timeless elegance.

The Workshops of Hell: the transmission of an ancestral art

Both a school and a shipyard, the Ateliers de l'Enfer trains the shipwrights of tomorrow. This unique place, where learning and passion blend, reminds us of the importance of passing on expertise, a core value at Royal Mer. Just like the craftsmen who carve wood to extend the life of ships, our workshops create pieces designed to last for years.

A shooting that reflects our universe

By choosing these sites for our Autumn-Winter campaign, we wanted to celebrate our marine DNA and pay tribute to the artisans of the sea. In this raw and authentic atmosphere, our pieces take on their full meaning: they fit naturally into a setting where the sea, the wind and man work in harmony.

Whether on the pontoons, between the hulls being restored or in the heart of the workshops, each shot tells a story: that of a preserved heritage, of perpetuated know-how and of a shared passion for authenticity.

Dive into our collections and let yourself be carried away by the maritime spirit that drives our creations.
