At Royal Mer, our commitment to more responsible fashion is part of a long-term approach. This season, we're taking a major step forward by using RWS-certified wool in our 100% merino sweaters for our spring/summer collection. This label can be found on the ARMEL, ISA U, TITOUAN, and ELLEN models.
The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), supported by Textile Exchange, is a voluntary certification that promotes best agricultural practices. Its goal is to ensure respect for animal welfare, soil health, and full traceability of wool throughout the production chain.
RWS wool is identified, traced, and separated from any other uncertified batch, from farm to finished product. This allows brands to confidently claim that their products truly feature wool from responsible practices.
The RWS label incorporates the "Five Freedoms" of animal welfare, which are the basis of its specifications:
RWS-certified farms must adopt progressive agricultural practices that protect soil health, promote biodiversity, and preserve native species. Any form of deforestation or conversion of natural ecosystems is prohibited.
RWS also includes social commitments, based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization:
By incorporating RWS-certified wool into our spring/summer collection, Royal Mer is strengthening its commitment to more responsible and transparent fashion. This voluntary approach is part of our journey toward 2026.
