At Royal Mer, we have chosen to highlight our manufacturing process and to be as transparent as possible towards you. A way of respecting a traditional heritage of French knitting and also a way for us to guarantee products of impeccable quality.
WHY PRODUCE THIS WAY?
Production is today an essential subject when we want to offer the best possible products, whether from the point of view of product quality but also manufacturing processes. To respond to current challenges and our sustainability approach, Royal Mer has chosen to highlight manufacturing that is largely French or European. The stylists of our team then use unique know-how to offer you a collection that will meet your expectations.
By favoring French or nearby manufacturing, we ensure production quality and limit the carbon footprint as much as possible during transport and delivery of products.
MANUFACTURING ANCHORED IN A RESPONSIBLE APPROACH
Royal Mer is anchored in a responsible approach, thus defending more ethical fashion. For several seasons we have chosen to highlight new materials meeting the different standards of textile labels such as the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or OEKO-TEX labels, thus ensuring, via a set of criteria, a certain quality of the responsible product. (compliance with safety standards, worker safety, quality of materials, non-harmfulness of products, etc.). A very important step to offer you impeccable and durable pieces.
AND OUR KLASEL SWEATER IN ALL THIS?
You may know it, but our KLASEL sweater is an iconic Royal Mer model.
- 600 grams of wool are required for its production, the equivalent of the wool of a sheep.
- 9 steps are necessary for its manufacture (patterning and grading, knitting, spraying in panels, cutting, making, fitting buttons, spraying, folding and packaging)
- Our KLASEL sweaters are labeled Origine France Garantie and OEKO-TEX 100.
- More than 20,000 pieces have been knitted and made in our La Régrippière factory.
- It takes around 1 hour to make a Klasel sweater.

There is a real exchange and mutual respect between us and our suppliers which allows us to grow together and offer you sustainable products. It is therefore with complete transparency that we reveal to you the behind-the-scenes production of our Klasel sweaters.
