How to maintain your woolens?

When it comes to caring for woolens, everyone has their own tips, and today we're sharing ours with you.

Concerning the care of virgin wool and pure merino wool, the first rule is to always scrupulously respect the care codes on the labels sewn inside your clothes.

Depending on the type of wool, these instructions may vary in order to perfectly adapt to the treatments undergone by the wool.

In case of a stain, here are our tips for cleaning your sweater yourself.

Alcoholic drinks (except red wine):

Dab gently with an absorbent cloth to remove as much liquid as possible. Sponge the stained area with a mixture of equal parts warm water and rubbing alcohol.

Black coffee :

Mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and white wine, then gently dab the stain with an absorbent cloth soaked in the solution.

Blood :

Quickly blot the stain with a damp sponge to remove excess. Gently dab the stained area with pure vinegar, then with cold water.

Butter / Fat / Sauce:

If there is a greasy stain, scrape the surface with a spoon to remove the excess. Gently dab the stain with a cloth dampened with dry cleaning product.

Chocolate / Coffee with milk / Tea:

Gently dab the edge of the stain with a cloth soaked in white spirit. Then gently dab the stain with an absorbent cloth soaked in a mixture of equal parts 90° alcohol and white wine.

Eggs / Milk:

Dab gently with a cloth soaked in white spirit. Repeat the operation with another cloth soaked in diluted white wine.

Fruits / Fruit juices / Red wine:

Quickly dab the stain with a mixture of 90° alcohol and water (proportion 3/1).

Grass :

Clean carefully with soap (bar or flake) or gently dab with a cloth soaked in 90° alcohol.

Ink / Ballpoint pen:

Dab gently with a cloth soaked in white spirit. Repeat the operation with a cloth soaked in white vinegar or 90° alcohol.

Lipstick / Makeup / Shoe polish:

Dab gently with a cloth soaked in turpentine or white spirit.

Urine:

Act as quickly as possible. Absorb as much liquid as possible with a dry sponge then apply pure vinegar and finally with cold water.

Wax:

Scrape off as much wax as possible with a spoon. Place blotting paper on the stain and iron gently with an iron.

In the event that our tips have not worked, the best solution will be to call on the services of a dry cleaner.
